NEWS - January 2010

“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
                                                                                                                                       - Henry Ford

Welcome to 2010!

After all the holiday food, family gatherings and New Year’s resolutions…it’s time to get down to the business of a new year. Funny how each year on January 1st… you expect to feel different and make it a new beginning. But do we ever
end up really feeling that way?

In 2010 both the board of directors and I would like to take
on that challenge of working towards greatness. Leading change and making a difference in your life and the lives of others. Henry ford had it right when he stated the above quote.

“Coming Together is a beginning…” You made the decision to join the Wyandotte Jaycees…
we are so glad that you are part of this amazing organization. We have strived over the years to provide our members with quality projects and project management opportunities. Have you received all that you needed and expected from our organization?

We will be sending out a membership survey to all of our members very soon. We want to know more about you! What can we do to make your membership worth every penny you’ve spent?

“Keeping together is progress…” You have come this far in reading this message, so we must have done something to touch your life. The next step is taking your ideas and making them a reality. Come out to our chapter meetings and share with us your ideas and input. This organization is always evolving. We need your creativity to make this organization the powerhouse it needs to be.

“Working together is a success!” We need to communicate with each other to accomplish our goals and get the things done that our membership asks for. We can offer everything from leadership training to the opportunity to manage a project from A to Z. The sky is the limit as far as ideas go. As long as we communicate with you… we can do anything!

The Jaycees truly are the greatest young person’s organization in the world. We have chapters of members throughout the state, across the nation and throughout the world! The ability to network with other membership is always available and you may discover some great opportunities through this organization that you never thought of before.

When I joined the Jaycees in 2005, I never knew how far I might go in the organization, but I can tell you that I have made some of the best friends I can say that I have through the organization and I wouldn’t trade my experiences for anything! In 2010, I encourage you to step up to the plate and share your ideas…make them a reality! We will work with you to make sure that Wyandotte offers R.O.C.K.S. for you in 2010. (Real Opportunities that Create Knowledge & Skills.)

Your 2010 President
Julie Abshire
